A little look at Halloween '06

We have to start with some pictures of carving pumpkins. Jagen and Tyce carved theirs all by themselves. Dad only helped clean out the seeds. As for J.D. he has gone domestic on me. He decided to make the black cat pumpkin that he found in my "Sunset" magazine. Next thing you know he will be baking a pie or something. On second thought, that will never happen.

We had friends over for some chili and some trick-or-treating! Our good friends the Empeys, a family that just moved here from Boise, The Turleys, and Jagen's friend Kendal and her mom Jen shared in the fun. Trick-or-treating, eating, and candy trading. So much fun!!

Our last thought for you

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Jagen's Self Portraits

I went to use my camera the other day and discovered that Jagen had "borrowed" it. It was pretty cute to see all of her self portraits. Here are a few that I thought were cute.

Potty Update: #2 Mastered

We want to keep you all in the loop. Just to let you know, Asey has mastered the potty thing. When she got the hang of the poop thing she got this Dora van as her reward. It has buttons that sings a Dora song and makes car noises. So the whole family now sings along with the Dora song. So in the words of Dora "Lo hicimos" - "We did it"

Our Obsessions

Our life is back to the usual busy, school is in, way of life. It is interesting to note we each have our own obsessions that we make time for. Asey is obsessed with watching Dora and drinking apple juice. (Usually at the same time.) Tyce is obsessed with playing with friends and tying double, triple or quadruple knots in his shoes. He has finally mastered shoe tying and thinks that the more knots the cooler you are. (I think we have convinced him less is more in this case.) Jagen is obsessed with always singing (Tyce and Asey are constantly asking her to stop), and doing whatever she can to avoid homework. J.D. is obsessed with riding his bike and then riding his bike some more. Oh... and for looking for a job. I am obsessed with cleaning the house and being involved with just about anything at the kids school.

Amid all the busy stuff we did manage to get Asey potty trained. She has done really well. We are still trying to master #2, but I am sure it won't take too long. Well at least I hope it won't take too long.

Hooray for Dora!!

Well the time has come and I can't put it off any longer. Asey is ready to be potty trained. She is quite excited about wearing "big girl undies", as I like to call them. She woke up this morning all excited about putting on her Dora undies. We have not had success yet...but I am holding out hope. Tyce and Jagen are all into it, and are her biggest fans. They cheer her on. It is pretty cute. I thought I would give a small peek into a day in the life of Asey being potty trained. It has been awhile since some of you have had the joy of potty training, so here is to sweet memories.

The favorite Dora undies.

Gotta love those little buns in little undies.

Nothing like "My Little Pony" undies with cordinating dress up shoes and bad hair.

Labor Day 2006 Bass Lake, CA.

We went to Bass Lake for Labor day with a few friends from our ward. We had a great time camping and playing on the lake. The kids never wan to to come home and Kendra and I have decided that it sure is a lot of work for just one night. From now on we will go for at least two nights.

54 Mile Bike Ride

Click on the link above to see my route. I am playing around with my new GPS unit Kendra gave me for my birthday and it has this cool sharing option. If you click on the DASH BOARD tab it will take you to a summary of my ride. On the right side of that screen you can view a larger map of the ride of even better go to Google Earth and see satilite shots of the area with my route imposed on top. On the left you can click on items such as time, distance and speed. You can also click on MAP PLAYER and watch a dot simulation of my ride.

I relize this might be boring to you all but I am hooked on riding my bike and think about it all day!! (oh yea and job hunting)

Jagen looking good ready for the boys.

Jagen and Tyce started school this week. While Jagen worried herself to death Tyce didnt think twice about it. His only Comment was that the first recess was too short.

The Paria River Hike

Last week, J.D. had the chance to do a 22 mile hike along the Arizona and Utah borders in some amazing red rock canyons. The hike is known for being the longest slot canyon hike in the country. We had a great time and were very exausted at the end.
