Boomerang Binky

No way she found the binky. She had stashed it in her shopping cart. She found it and ran to Tyce all excited with it in her hand "Tyce binky!!!". Tyce snatched from her and ran downstairs yelling "Mom Reese found the binky!!" with her close behind in tears. I quickly grabbed it from him and threw it away. I scooped up Reese and cuddled her and told her she was a big girl and she didn't need the binky. She had a minor meltdown for a few minutes until we put on Yo Gabba Gabba and then it was all better. So on we go...BINKY FREE!!!!

Adios Amigo

The amigo is Reese's binky. Yes it is true...I have finally sucked it up and the binky is gone. I am really quite embarrassed that she is 2 and still had a binky. And not just a little bit but pretty much whenever she wanted. She is the baby and I just let her go with it. Jagen - right at 1 it was gone. No kid of mine was gonna wounder around talking with one of those dangling in their mouth. Tyce - 14 months, Asey - 18 months, but Reese takes the cake with 26 months. I am so lame, but last week I had a real eyeopener. One day while we were out (I never let her take it out in public) she was relentless about wanting it. To the point she was in tears and causing trouble so that she could get my attention and then beg for it. It got so bad I had to go home to get it just so I could finish what I was doing. Yes she did wounder around talking with it dangling out of her mouth. For those of you who have gone through similar experiences with binkies or bottles you know you have to gear up for the whole process of removal. Kind of a mental prep for what you are about deal with, but that was it no time for gearing up, I had had it with the binky. This week is fall break for my kids so it is a perfect time to extract the binky. I carefully devised a plan to snip the end and tell her it was broken on Saturday afternoon. Then more on Sunday etc until there was nothing left to suck and it was officially BROKEN and we would throw it away. Well Saturday afternoon before I could do any snipping she lost it. I told her to go put it in her bed so she could go outside with dad, and we haven't seen it since. So we went cold turkey on Saturday. And it has been going pretty well. She didn't even ask for it yesterday. But now she is sick and I feel so bad that she doesn't have it, but she hasn't asked for it so I guess all is well. Now I just hope that if it is still somewhere in this house that I find it and not her. Or it could be a real problem.

Like mother like daughter...maybe

Jagen thought this was so funny that she decided to catch it on video for me to enjoy!

The sad part is that this cute little face...

the very next day did this...

and this...

In a matter of minutes. So I guess furiously cleaning things with a wet wipe is not an indicator that she will be a clean freak like me. I can dream though!

My Reesey is two...TERRIBLE TWO!!!

( What happened to that brown hair?)

Reese's birthday was on Friday. I am a little slow to get this done. I can't believe she is already two. I do have to say she is a true terrible two year old...but we will keep her! She keeps us laughing! Here are some cute pictures of my girl!

This is the morning of her birthday and I was getting ready for the day. I turned around and she had gone and got a pillow and a blanket and made a bed in my bathtub. Pretty cute!
Opening up her presents! This is how many fingers she holds up when you ask her how old she is. But she does say that she is two.
Her and her new baby with the birthday cake!
Goodnight birthday girl and baby doll!

(Please disregard the binky. She is my baby cut me a little slack please!)

Another First Day

I am asking the question...Where did the summer go? I am so sad it is over. Usually by the end I am ready for the routine, but not this year. I love the freedom of summer. The kids were starting to fight and that tells me they were ready for routine though. All good things must come to an end.

Monday was our first day of school. Jagen started 6th, Tyce started 4th and my little Asey started ALL DAY Kindergarten. So it is just me and Reesey at home. Pretty crazy. We changed schools this year so the first day was met with much hesitation by Jagen, but the other two were off and running.

I took the kids to school and left Jagen all by herself pinching back the tears (her and me both) so that I could make sure Asey was all set. Tyce had long since headed to his playground with little more than a half hug goodbye...boys. So I walked Asey to her playground and found where to line up. I thought once we got there that she would lose it, but no she just lined right up and headed off. So then I sat there and lost it! It had been so busy the last week being on vacation I hadn't really stopped to think about sending her off to Kindergarten so when the moment came I was not too prepared. I totally cried my eyes out!

The first week has gone well and everyone seems to be settling in. I just have to convince Asey that lunch at school isn't too bad. I think I spoiled her by making Mac and Cheese a few too many times a week. She is not so much a sandwich girl.

Here are the first day of school pictures. I tried to get them to do the cheesy hold up fingers for the grade your in thing...no one but Asey would do it and she is kindergarten so what do you hold up???

My Post about TYCE

Up next is Tyceman! He has been busy since I last blogged. So here are some pictures of his adventures.

Starting with basketball...Tyce had a blast playing this year and developed some new skills. He loved playing with his two best buddies Bryson and J.T. and having dad as the assistant coach again.

Lining up. Tyce is #4!

Tyce taking the shot!

What cute boy!!

Tyce also had his first pinewood derby in scouts! It was so funny to watch him and J.D. plan and work on the car. I am bad, and didn't get any pictures of the construction phase. It did go to weigh in with some wet paint, but it was still fast! He took 3rd!!! He was so excited!! and so was J.D.

That is "Big T" on the outside with the lightening bolt!!

Our first derby race was so fun!!

Tyce's next passion...Football. Tyce wanted to play football so bad so we let him do flag football. (I couldn't let my little boy play tackle...he might get squashed! and he didn't even meet the weight requirement.) Bryson and Tyce were on the same team. They were awesome! Both super fast and played hard! So fun to watch!!

Tyce and Bryson

Last but not least he had a birthday! It was a busy day and I didn't get too many pictures! I am lame! The girls hid his presents and he loved looking for them. We went to dinner with Terry's family In and Out...Tyce's favorite. Then we went to an outdoor movie. It was a lot of fun. I didn't make him a cake since we were off and running all day. He just informed me yesterday that that wasn't too cool. So maybe I should make him a cake this weekend.

Birthday morning with the girls.

Found new Heely's!

My Post about JAGEN

Here is some recent pictures of Jagen and her happenings.

A couple pictures from her birthday!

And the party. Her dad is so cool. He got tickets for her and some friends to see David Archuleta in concert. So the girls came over and made shirts to wear to the concert. It was so cute to listen to them be all giddy with excitement. They got the front row and could actually see him. It was so funny when they came home because the quote of the night was "He looked right into my eyes!" in a dreamy tone of course. Little do they know he looked into every girl's eyes.

In Search of my Blogging MOJO...

It has been lost for quite sometime, but I have been searching for the MOJO and have found it. I started playing with my blog yesterday and it all came back to me. The fun of blogging and of looking at others blogs, deciding what to post and what pictures to include. I FOUND IT!!! So after some long months I am attempting to play a little catch up. We have a few busy months as everyone does this time of year. So I want to include a lot of stuff so here it goes...but let this serve as a warning LONG POST WITH LOTS OF PICTURES!!

We went through a round of visitors in the spring because everyone wants to enjoy our great weather that time of year. The door is always open...we love visitors!!

First Jeff and Kandiss and the girls came to visit in March. It was so fun to spend time with them and we can't wait for the new arrival next week!!!

Silly girls

Cute Kids!!

While playing with the kids at the park J.D. smacked, and I do mean SMACKED face first into a canopy on the play structure and broke his nose and got a little whiplash. Layed all 6'3" of him flat on his back. Jeff and I laughed but J.D. not so much.

Next Shane and Katie came for a visit. It was so good to have some one on one time with their family! The kids had so much fun together. I was a big slack and didn't get too good a pictures, but Shane sent me a few.

Jagen shared her love for climbing trees with the girls.

We went to an Archeology Museum one day (of course) and this is Shane with Reese and Landon.

These two were so cute together!

Cute kids with the wildflowers!

Then our good friends the Flandros from California came for a visit over Easter weekend. We had so much fun! We went rollerskating and to the Easter Pageant at the Temple. We miss all our friends in CA!!!

Asey and Jags getting ready to step out onto the rink.

This is my Mother's Day Picture! I love these kids!!!

We went home to New Mexico for a quick visit over Memorial Day. It was a nice visit with my parents and Guy and Rod's families. We had such a great time. While we were there I was able to attend my nephew Brandyn's graduation. It was kinda weird. I was getting ready to start my junior year at that very high school the summer he was born. Made me feel really old, but so excited for where life goes next for him.

Self portrait of the Grad and me.
Fun with cousins at the graduation party.
A little Latin dancing with Aunt Angie.
Opening the graduation gifts! $$$$$

Then we came back home and my niece Casey had graduation! So we did it all over again. It was fun to think back to that time of life and how excited and scared I felt.
Another self portrait with the other grad!!!

With the siblings!

After all this J.D. and I were invited to Lake Powell with some friends. It was good times. I forgot how much fun it is to be out on the lake. We left the kids with my sister and just had 5 days of fun and sun. I did realize that I am WAY out of shape. I don't have those pictures yet, so I hope to post them soon. I have to mention that J.D. and I got up wake surfing together on the board. I have to post that picture because I thought it was way too cool.

Just a couple of weekends ago we went camping with my sister's family. It was soooo much fun. I hadn't been camping in a couple of years and I had a blast! The kids loved it and the dogs really loved it.

Lastly I better include updated pictures of the puppies. They are fitting in well and I even kinda like them. They are pretty fun. Higely just got a haircut so you must see the before and after shots.
