I am asking the question...Where did the summer go? I am so sad it is over. Usually by the end I am ready for the routine, but not this year. I love the freedom of summer. The kids were starting to fight and that tells me they were ready for routine though. All good things must come to an end.
Monday was our first day of school. Jagen started 6th, Tyce started 4th and my little Asey started ALL DAY Kindergarten. So it is just me and Reesey at home. Pretty crazy. We changed schools this year so the first day was met with much hesitation by Jagen, but the other two were off and running.
I took the kids to school and left Jagen all by herself pinching back the tears (her and me both) so that I could make sure Asey was all set. Tyce had long since headed to his playground with little more than a half hug goodbye...boys. So I walked Asey to her playground and found where to line up. I thought once we got there that she would lose it, but no she just lined right up and headed off. So then I sat there and lost it! It had been so busy the last week being on vacation I hadn't really stopped to think about sending her off to Kindergarten so when the moment came I was not too prepared. I totally cried my eyes out!
The first week has gone well and everyone seems to be settling in. I just have to convince Asey that lunch at school isn't too bad. I think I spoiled her by making Mac and Cheese a few too many times a week. She is not so much a sandwich girl.
Here are the first day of school pictures. I tried to get them to do the cheesy hold up fingers for the grade your in thing...no one but Asey would do it and she is kindergarten so what do you hold up???

isn't the first day of school a bitter/sweet day? Your kids look so cute and grown up! Holy Cow. It seems like just yesterday we were frosting sugar cookies in Sandy!! Call me soon. Robyn :0)
Oh, I can't believe they are all that grown up! All day Kindergarden - what a dream! That is awesome. Tell them all we love and miss them and to have a good year! LOVES!
They all look pretty cute..Happy the new school is working out. Had a great time with you in Utah..Too short!
I miss taking first day of school pictures! They all look so cute! It was fun seeing you last week! Thanks so much for coming to the wedding stuff and supporting Jenn. It meant a lot to us! And that gift basket was perfect! They loved it! So creative!
Natalie is the same way with Sandwiches. She only wants jam. Plus she hates any kind of capri sun, juice box. I haven't solved that problem yet but to solve the sandwich problem I buy the Bagelfuls from Costco. Its a rolled up bagel that's filled with cream cheese. They have all different flavors, they go in the freezer, you pop them in the lunch box and they're thawed out by lunch! Maybe that would work for cute miss Asey!
