I am so excited to post these pictures of J.D.'s first century ride

J.D. truly enjoyed getting ready and training for the race. I kind of thought he was crazy and definitely obsessed, but it was all worth it. I am so proud of him and loved being part of the race day. My sister kept the kids and we went down and stayed the night in a hotel. J.D. needed to be at the race by 5:00am. He waited in the pack of approximately 8000 riders (he was around 4000 riders back)until 7:00am and he was off. I drove to a couple of the check points and cheered him on as he whizzed by. Then my brother-in-law, Dave, came down and we found J.D. in the pack at about mile 85. We followed him and took some pictures for about 10 miles and then rushed to the finish line to see him cross. It was so exciting!! The race was a total of 109 miles. J.D. completed it in 5 hours and 18 minutes, and finish number 530. That is the top 6% of the riders!! Not bad for his first century ride!!

Very Cool JDot! I am very impressed. Let me know when you are going to Tour De France. I want to go and watch--as the official photographer or something. Somehow you need to get paid for this!

Wow! That is so cool! I am impressed! I don't know if I remember how to ride a bike its been so long!! Good job! And if my mom gets to go to the Tour De France then I get to go too, I'm a great tour guide!
JD....that is awesome! I thought running 26 miles was crazy, but biking 109 miles is right up there. All I can say is that I wouldn't be able to sit down for a month. Way cool and congrats!!!
